If you arrived via a Google ad, we use Google Ads conversion tracking—including a hashed (not plain-text) version of your email if you sign up—to measure ad performance. Full details below.

When you visit this site, our hosting provider automatically records technical data—browser type, operating system, referrer URL, date and time of the request, and IP address—to keep the site secure and running. This data is not combined with other data sources.
If you enter your email address to join our pre-launch list, we store it for the sole purpose of sending you updates about Pipa the Puppy, the book, and our Kickstarter campaign. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time via the link included in every email. The specific email-delivery platform will be named here once finalized ahead of launch.
This site uses Google Ads conversion tracking (Google's “gtag.js” tag) to measure how well our advertising performs. When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline this tracking. Until you actively accept, the tag runs in a privacy-restricted mode: no advertising cookies are set and no personal data (such as a hashed email address) is sent to Google. If you accept, the tag may set cookies and, if you join our mailing list, sends Google a cryptographically hashed (not plain-text, not human-readable) version of the email address you enter, solely to match your signup back to the ad that led you here. Your choice is remembered in your browser (via § 25(2) TTDSG-exempt local storage) so you are not asked again. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie Settings” button shown in the bottom-right corner of every page. We do not otherwise use marketing or tracking cookies for general browsing. Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) where given; Google may still process minimal, cookieless signals on a legitimate-interest basis (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) even if you decline, to model aggregate ad performance without identifying you individually. Google acts as a processor for this data; see Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles it.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, object to or restrict its processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us at hello@pipathepuppy.com.
